late 70's/early 80's VOX AC30 opinions

Been offered one of these locally at a good price.

Now I will admit that apart from knowing Rory G and Brian May use them and they are painfully loud amps, I know nothing else about them..

Anyone with any knowledge of this era of AC30 care to share their thoughts..

My brother's got one and I've often borrowed it. I really love it. Does cleans very well and sounds great overdriven. It's quite trebly but that's the sound I like. He plays mostly humbuckers and I only play single coils and it works well on either pickups. If I had the room, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it came up at a good price.

His is a 2x12 so it's a heavy brute.
