    I'll throw in Junior Marvin.If only because I love the story that he had to turn down a gig with Stevie Wonder to play with Bob Marley.
    His session credits aren't huge but if you have Bob Marley and Steve Winwood and Toots and The Maytalls on your cv that isn't bad.  

    Whilst  I'm on a reggae theme - Ernest Ranglin. He had a solo jazz career but appeared on many, many 1960's Jamaican records ( including early Bob Marley). According to Wikipedia also the incidental music on Dr No.
    Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

    Ernest Ranglin - amazing guy. I have a few of his solo CDs, such a different style that you never hear anywhere else, well worth a listen for inspiration. Trust me - for any non-jazz fans, these are still very accessible
