Snoop was one of my surprise favourites at Glastonbury a few years ago. I don't own any of his material (the Mrs does) and I hadn't listened to them much beforehand but live he was brilliant.

Talib Kweli for the thinking man.

Dr Octagon although he can be a bit weird. Good drums though.

Cut Chemist's stuff is good although instrumental.

MF Doom. Again can be weird but great production.

Jay Z. Not so much the recent stuff but Black Album and earlier are great. And if you can find the Dangermouse Grey Album where he used the Beatles White Album for the backing, and layered Jay Z's Black Album lyrics over the top, it's worth a listen. It's very cleverly done.
