Always makes me sad that one, Dweezil can't play it live without crying. I was so sad when Frank died, Ive never felt like that about someone I don't know, he was an amazing man and who knows what he'd be doing now.

This gets me welling up with the first note played, such a sensitive and sad song.

I'm thinking of flagging this thread for being sexist, the reason being that our lady members don't have bollocks.

Some of the wimmins I encounter at work I'd bet do, thus applying some such Law of Averages, one of 'em probably does have a pair of swingers 'down there'. Temperature permitting, naturally.

@jd0272 It's your birthday weekend man, it'd be rude not to ;)

Northern Sky and $1000 Wedding for me again.

I'm always a 'bit pissed' if I don't have to drive the next day. Tis a lovely predicament to be in (one more, or not?).  ;)

"Going Home" - Theme from Local Hero
    "Brothers in Arms" Dire straits

Knopfler has a way to hit me right on the cry button

Build by the housemartins often gives me a lump in the throat for some reason

@Travisthedog I completely forgot about BIA. The subject, lyrics, and the tone of the guitar/amp, killer. Good call.

I love MK. I watched the Tube 'Live From Wembley' concert (filmed on the Brothers in Arms tour) on YT last night.

It's just superb - his lyrics, his playing, the band - spot on.

The song which really got to me watching it was 'Tunnel of Love' - an exceptionally poignant look back at youth.

I've said it before - but for me Knopfler is up there with the truly great writers. His songs have a real sense of 'place' in them. It's hard to argue someone who has sold so many records is under-rated but I actually believe it's true in his case.

    An exceptional talent.

  • Always on my mind - elvis' version.
A classic in my eyes because he'd just got divorced after his wife had an affair and he was well into his drug dependancy - just starting to go down hill personally and this song summed him up at that time.

Judging by this thread a lot of our male members don't have any either.

    In my life - Beatles

    Northern sky - Nick Drake.

I won't say I start grizzling but very emotive tracks for me.
