gave the new album a listen over the weekend and they seem to be back on form after a couple of not so good offerings!

Been working my way through the back catalogue in honour.

Anyone else a fan?

  • They've put out a lot of good music over the years.  When I was teaching I had a lot of students interested in learning songs from the first two albums in particular.

What I've heard of them I like, I probably should listen a bit more but one of those bands that I never bought an album of theirs...I'll have a bit of a browse today.

  • They're a bit all over the place are Weezer. I find them horribly inconsistent. Of their recent stuff, Make Believe was terrible, then the red album was great, then Raditude was even better! Then that weird album Death to False Metal followed closely by Hurley which was shockingly bad... Sorta killed it for me. I haven't listened to much of the new one. Maybe I will. Soon.

Yeh they seemed to loose form a bit in the middle.

The only thing that saved make believe for me was Beverly hills as I think it's a brilliant song :)

General rule is to listen to the albums that have them posing on the front with a coloured background.

    Blue
    Green
    Red

That said there latest offering is pretty decent.

Really enjoyed their first album, second not so much. Had to stop listening to the third as it was too much Weezer for my ears, they've got a really distinct sound, which I like but couldn't listen to them exclusively for a full day or morning/afternoon.

Beverly Hills is a great tune.

My sentiments exactly, I used to love the Blue album as a teenager and it all started by watching the Buddy Holly video (recorded on the Happy Days set) on the windows disc - I listened to that song loads not knowing who or what it was (thought it may have been a Microsoft promotional thing!!) but then when someone lent me the blue album a few years later I found it again!

The red album is great, love it (apart from a few tracks).

Buddy Holly is still the best thing they ever wrote. Absolute corker.

  • Bought a copy of Everything Will Be Alright in the End. About to play it for the first time. It couldn't have come at a better time. We've got a noisy neighbour. Their dog is driving me a little bit up the wall. So. Crunch time. Dog vs. Weezer - we'll find out which one sounds better soon!
