Beck - Morning Phase

I haven't really listened to any Beck since Odelay, but since he got a Grammy I thought I ought to give this a shot. It's bloody brilliant. I now need to go and investigate the other stuff he's done since 1996!!

Good shout, I'm going from Mutations onwards....I like you haven't really paid him attention since Odelay, dunno why. For me a lot of his stuff is filler, some really good tunes out there but you have to dig for it. I hate to put anyone down and it's just my taste but I couldn't sit down and really get into an album. It's nice background music with a few really killer tunes. 

I've skipped over to Morning Phase, good so far.

Really liked Blue Moon too. 

After a few listens, for me it's more of the same from Beck in that there's a few really really great songs then the rest I can take or leave.

If you enjoy "Morning Phase" try "Sea Change" too.  Both great albums.  Modern Guilt is also great but different in style

This was in my "albums of 2014" list over xmas... it's won a Grammy. Maybe I'm becoming establishment and predictable...
