Anyone recognise this song?

Watching a covers band the other week but didn't have a clue what this song was.  L

Really rubbish recording done on my phone (there was a bass player onstage, honest).  As it happens that's what I liked most about the song, it's got a single note bass part, but nothing at the low end makes it onto the recording:

I saw another band do it last night so it's going around the circuit.  I asked a couple of people but they didn't know it and I forgot to ask the band in the break.

mini disc... the future of tape eh?

I remember, (quick calculation = 1991ish) my mate telling me that he was working as an electronics boffin at some studio in Hammersmith and that it wouldn't be long before tape was obsolete and everything would be recorded on chips.  I don't know what I said but I remember being extremely sceptical.  Ho hum.  Which is why I'm not an electronics boffin.
