Fair enough, I still find him annoying and overly keen on pretty much anything that's mentioned....He's not for me so I don't listen.

I thought that was interesting in the article, the bit where he says he'd enjoy laying into a piece of music every so often, but thinks that's a bit of an ego trip and he'd be better playing good music.
Haven't listened to radio1 for ages (always seems to be the high energy clubbing stuff when I've tried it), so only ever encountered him on Glastonbury coverage where he does come across as a bit over the top. Mostly a 6Music dedicatee myself, though I seem to be the only person who doesn't like Shaun Keaveny.

I've always found him a bit false and don't understand where his accent comes from, it doesn't sound very new Zealand.

I don't really find him funny, and since his act generally comes across as "look how funny and witty I am" it doesn't work for me. My brothers like him, but don't like Lauren Laverne, which is inconceivable. I suppose most radio DJs are very much about exaggerating their personality, so if there's something about them that annoys you then it gets rubbed in.
