Ear training software?

Hi,
My tutor and I are going to start working on some ear training soon, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any software, preferably free(!), that can help with this? Ive heard of something that lets you slow the music down and put small bits on a loop etc.

If you transcribe on a daily basis your ears will get very good.

Justin Sandecoe has a couple of useful ear training sections on his site, along with tons of good and free lessons.

Brace yourself for a "When I was your age" speech.  When me and my buddy were first learning guitar and starting to put a band together we didn't have tape recorders(reel to reel were on the market but no one we knew had one and cassettes weren't invented yet).  We did have record players but we couldn't afford to buy all our favorite hits so, we used to get together and call the local radio station repeatedly, disguising our voices and requesting the songs we wanted to learn.  When one of these songs came on we would grab our guitars and get as much of it as we could by ear.  This forced us both to get really good at learning by ear, and remembering what we learned(because we didn't know when we would hear the song again when a guitar was in reach).  True story.  I did eventually learn to read music and that helped me immensely in other areas besides learning cover songs, such as writing music.  I'll never forget when we both pulled together all the guitar parts to Jefferson Airplanes "White Rabbit"!  God I'm old......
