Ambient drivel

JohnPerryJohnPerry Frets: 1622
Can anyone recommend any amateur ambient stuff on YouTube or elsewhere that isn't just a meaningless wall of shite from someone with too many modulations and delays? Something actually skilled, interesting, compelling or moving? I can meander meaninglessly all on my own. Someone must be actually good at it. Please don't tell me Andy Othling represents the best of this genre.

I came across this guy the other day (searching humbucker-style P90 pickups) and I reckon he's pretty good. He seems to have quite a few videos up - I haven't managed to get round to watching any others yet,.

Does it have to be guitar based?

Here is an album I did back in 2005:

    Will this do?

"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

I guess i mean the same guitar genre as Othling et al but actually beautiful, moving etc. Using the fx rather than having them dictate. Drew...have you emerged from that sentimental, poppy phase?

Does it have to be  "Amateur"? I mean the thing is if somebody's actually any good and making releases then its not really amateur anymore.

    +1 for Tycho.

Search for "Awaken the Echoes" as well.

I didn't realise Tycho has a live band now.

    Would love to see them.

Not sure what your after but check out Chords of Orion (Bill Vencil) - he has a couple of albums out and loads of tutorials on YouTube.

He's a nice guy who responds to questions if you're trying to get into ambient guitar.

    Or Michael Brook:
