    I've played Times Like These by Foo Fighters and Bubbles by Biffy Clyro in pubs to a good reaction both of which have a 7/8 section.

    Design for Life is in 6/8 and is a pub rock staple.
    I've seen plenty of people do Money live which has a verse in 5/4

    Here Comes The Sun alternates between 4/4 and something completely bonkers if I remember rightly from trying to learn it...

    What I love about 7/4 or 5/4 as opposed to 7/8 or 5/8 is in most arrangements it reverses the snare beat but maintains a quarter note pulse so it's still pretty danceable / head noddable.

    Using /8 or /16 time sigs usually confuses the fuck out of people. There's quite a funny video from our last gig of people trying to dance to one of our tunes that has a shit load of time sig changes. I'll try and look it out later this week.

    Course I'm clearly not going to stop using whatever preposterous timing I feel is right for the song but just an amusing observation.

    The converse can also be true - we have a song in 9/8, and me and the bass player both nod our heads in synchopation every other bar because I'm carrying on the same quarter note pulse through two bars and he resets his at the start of each bar.

    I think you should extend it to 4/4 or 6/8

    The number of songs in 6/8 is huge

    It's probably me by sting is 5/4 I think. He went through a bit of an odd time phase.
    System of a down and Metallica both use the odd bar of funny time sig.

    @Teetonetal - It's Probably Me - 4/4

    hmm, damn wonder which one I am thinking of then. I remember learning 2 songs, one in 5/4 and one in 7/4

    Is probably me the one with Eric Clapton guitar solo on nylon string?
