Orange Tiny Terror-Opinions

rprrpr Frets: 310
looking about for a small portable 15 - 20 watt-ish valve combo. was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the Orange Tiny Terror combo?
looking for crunchy/clean-ish sound that can work in house as well as practice/low volume gigs.

  • TT is probably ideal then..

I'm sure others here will champion the Jet City 20 watters too..
    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

I 'd go head and ppc 1x12 personally but they are pretty good
not the most robust amps in the world (I've binned a couple of them) but cheap and cheery

I had one but really didn't suit me tonally. Ticked lots of other boxes though for size and volume at the time.

I liked the TT for the overdriven sound which I thought it did well. In a big full band it struggled to stand out because of a lack of headroom/dynamics, that's less of a problem in a 3 piece or one guitar 4 piece lineup if the drummist isn't animal. Cleans are an acquired taste and ultimately why I sold mine. A bit of a one trick pony but hell of a trick really. I did enjoy owning the amp.

I had one and whilst it sounded great, it couldn't keep up with a full band and give you any kind of usable clean sound when it was unmiced. The headroom just wasn't there. Gigged with it once and moved it on.

Saw a local band last year doing sort of psychedelic blues stuff and the guitarist had the head into a 4x12 and sounded great - much warmer, fatter than I'd imagined.
