    Define 80's roar.....

I like the Hardwire tube Overdrive CM-2 and the tube distortion SC-2 for the rock (Van Halen etc) sounds

If you want to spend a bit more the Mk1 Guvnor is feckin awesomes.

The Mk2 Guv is pretty good, as is the Jackhammer, but IMO the Mk1 is the best of the lot.

May also be worth trying the Drive and Shredmaster pedals, but they're a bit less full-on than the Mk1.

eh? A shredmaster is a right hooligan pedal

(I happen to be selling one too :-) )
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
