SOLD: Mojo Jazzmaster P90 Bridge pickup

jellybellyjellybelly Frets: 760
edited May 2015 in Parts £
I've got a Creamery 'Extra Width' incoming so need to move this on. It's a hot, ballsy muther, lots of growl and bite but can be sweetened with the volume and tone controls - plenty of mids and a really raw tone. If you're not into the JM bridge pickup sound (many aren't) then this gives it a bit of an LP Jr vibe! Boxed, plenty of hook-up wire, £39 delivered.

I've also just received a StayTrem vibrato arm, so I have the original Classic Player arm and screw in collet - this would be a great upgrade for Squiers or Japanese Offsets (it's the 10mm collet, so won't work with USA guitars but fine for everything else) - it's nice and tight and doesn't suffer from getting floppy like those other units. £10 delivered! SOLD

I have one of these in my MJT jazzer

Best bridge pick up of all time in any guitar I've ever owned - bar none

If you have a jazz, you have to try one of these

Cheers Travis - it really is a cool pickup, I imagine it'd be great for garage rock and other similar genres! You're more than welcome to pick up another mate....

And bump, now with added screw-in vibrato and pics!

Does the term arm screw into the collet?

The trem army on my Squier slides in and then back out again all too easily!

    Thanks

    Tony

Yep! If you have a look at the Classic Player spec for either the CP Jaguar or Jazzmaster you'll see it there - it's the only model(s) that have the offset screw in trem.

Is it just a case of removing the old one and putting this in its place?

Yeah, it's screwed into the plate that the strings are held on, under the main trem plate. All you need is a spanner and a tub of elbow grease (in my case, a lot of elbow grease - it was on tight!). Once off, 20 seconds to screw the new one in. As far as I can tell, should be a straight swap as that's how StayTrem sell them (i.e. japanese Fenders, most MIM Fenders and those Squiers all taking the same dimension 10mm collet).

Tell you what, if you can't fit it or have trouble, you can return it and I'll refund.

Sorry- I don't want to be a killjoy, but you might want to check the threads- some of the Mexican ones take an American, non-metric thread. My Offset Special has the narrower American thread. You can check on the Staytrem website. I can't really tell from the photo here.

I checked exactly that when I ordered my staytrem replacement, otherwise it would have been impossible to replace. It's definitely the metric 10mm.
