    Oh my god that's it.

Thanks so much! That, a mint guard and the binding will look amazing I reckon.

I do need a shell pink guitar in my life, but that'll have to wait...

A very, very wise choice sir, teal with mint plate is the dogs bllx mate, nice!
The biggest question now is, what colour grain highlights? black? silver?

I might add a touch of silver highlight... But only a touch, perhaps mix it in with the last coat of teal so there is a small amount of silvery glitter in the finish and just more in the grain. I don't want it special effect looking though!

Definitely mint guard - found a supplier of them in the Netherlands (!) and a possible one here for twenty quid or so. And if the neck is unfinished I'm giving it a matching headstock.

Can I just show my teal guitar refin? I coloured the natural grainfiller with black stain.

    Again?

    Go on, then! ;)

so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Dare I say that on this occasion, I'd go clear? That grain doesn't need anything. Its beautiful. Actually, scratch that I think an amber burst would look stunning.

Nah. I've played @alnico's tele and I don't think I want this to be my practice piece to achieve that kind of finish, beautiful and tactile though it is. I am good with wudtone - I get very consistent results.

If I get a cheaper, pretty ash body I'll have a crack at tung oil/tru oil etc.

I'd have to have that as a Trans-White finish in Nitro with the grain filled, like this but with the obviously different pickup config and see thru!!!!

That was my thought, but it would need block inlays.

  • Wudtone teal kit ordered, with silver highlights.

Also have some interesting ideas regarding hardware and scratchplate.

  • So it arrived yesterday.

By golly it's pretty! Just need to tidy up one or two spots on the binding, sand the body to key it and it's ready. Beautiful.
