I have been listening to these albums quite a lot over the last few weeks and I think they are, in my opinion, the best 3 albums recorded by a band in a row.  Anyone else a fan?

    HUGE.

I've related this many times- but Hollis is a recluse now and spends a lot of time watching at Welwyn Garden Cricket Club

Binge, do yourself a favour and og and buy live in Montreaux now, then Hollis solo album

    Seminal.

Spirit of Eden is in my top 10 albums. My go to chill out album and the one I always recommend when people ask for new stuff to listen to. Haven't had a complaint yet!

Was just investigating the Hollis solo album and it says that Dominic Miller plays guitar on it.  I'll have to check it out.  :)

The Montreaux gig is on YT so I'll have a look at that too.

    Cheers.

    |Great stuff, Gassage.  I love how it kicks off after the mellow intro.

Yeah Spirit is great.  I can't think of another band to have been consistently good as Talk Talk with those three albums.

Doesn't get better than this for me:

Dark subject matter but a truly beautiful piece of music.

As a matter of interest @Gassage, @bingefeller, @StuDisco - are any of you fans to The Blue Nile? I often find there's a crossover where people are fans of both.

Nice to be talking about music, hey? :)

No, not at all. Found them very bland.

Never heard of The Blue Nile before.  I'll have to give them a listen.

Anyone else think that perhaps Mark Hollis had a strong influence on Steve Hogarth from Marillion?
