Global Settings > Ins/Outs > Volume Knob Controls determines which outputs the big Volume knob controls. If it's set to anything but Multi, there's a change whatever outputs you're listening to will not be affected.

Decided to try the FRFR approach instead of using my Jet City at last nights rehearsal as I'd picked up a little Alto TS110a very cheaply off eBay.  It sounded great and it's half the size and weight of the Jet City!  It also means I'm not having to create a separate output with an EQ block for my stage sound which I'm happy about.

Fed up with the Church of Cliff....I have now purchased a Helix to replace my FX8 as I get more and more requests to go FOH and I just couldn't really justify the AX8 price....so please, please be gentle on me as there will be LOTS of questions..

Bought it on the back of playing a rackmount unit running FW 1.3 through the front end of a Supersonic in PMT (yes, I know, I don't deserve anything else!!) - UI is a breeze and not being up to speed with Amp Modelling, I struggled to get a bad sound out of it - OK, he high gain stuff was a bit MEH but then I couldn't (or didn't) know how or if Cab emulation was off.

Already fallen in love with the AC30 model....

With a few IR's (if I'm reading things correctly) I can't see why I will need anything else and it also gives the option to still run a real amp (Bogner Shiva) and control it all with similar patches etc - so I'm thinking of setting up a bunch of FOH patches using the Shiva model with a decent Bogner OS212 IR for the direct gigs and then have the same effects in another bunch of patches set up for 4CM into real Shiva - do-able???

Certainly doable.

Just don't swallow the "you must use 3rd party IRs" mantra without testing it yourself. What you get in the Helix is more than good enough.

Before IR try using 2 seperate cab modules on path 1a and 1b.. with different mics. I think it sounds great.

The control options of the native ones with all the different mics, distances etc etc are massive.

I also like using a direct signal into a real cab and then blending in a cab model into the real cab too. I was trying to get a proper old P bass into a B15 sound with a Stingray and my barefaced cabs and it wasn't happening - it was too bright and blending it was the answer. Just using a modelled cab into another cab didn't work alone.

I think we're all fairly sane about it.

It's an ace bit if kit.

It has some quirks and there are things each of us would like to see added to make it more complete.

Mr Igloo is not the Messiah, but he's quite a useful chap.
