    If it was just the noise gate that really ruined it, use the software :)

    Bognor alchemist sounded alright, but to be honest, it wasn't a shade on the 6505+ combo.  It's quite geared for rawk.

    That's odd - I hate noise gates and I'm very sensitive to them, and I didn't notice it at all. I wonder if yours was actually faulty? I found it very easy to set up too - at least once I'd worked out that the 'True Valve Power' button is off as default... one of the more stupid design decisions in it.
