    Blimey!

Have you been reading my mind?

I've only today been working on a piece on precisely this subject!   :D

    Unfortunately  ..... it's about 4 min 15 sec.  And I don't think it'll work cut down.   :(

@Fretwired ; That's the only Rammstein track I've heard (I've seen that vid before) - it's great. I really should check out more. Could you recommend a CD to buy?

@steamabacus .. I'd get Mutter (which has Sonne) - great album. Rosenrot is excellent as well.

This is the 'cover pic' for the track I was working on today (it includes a Vera Lynn sample among many others).....

Yeah, but it'll be disqualified for being 2 minutes too long. I might just enter it as a kind of Olympic 'demonstration' event where no one gets any medals.

Well you over run by 2 minutes, the Greeks are over running by months!

I might write and sing in German for this one

Play a variation on the riff to Money and solo over it.

Well, I've finished Market Forces Sweetheart (it's up on my SC page) and it's 4'20" long.

I reckon, in the spirit of the remit and with a bit of creative accountancy, I could make it look more like 2'04" in order to meet the entry criteria. No one will ever find out, will they? What could go wrong?

@steamabacus ... genius .... :-) ... maybe end it with some classic Greek plate smashing ...

@Fretwired ; It already has a rather ejaculatory ending.

    Entry submitted.

I decided I had to enter 'Market Forces Sweetheart' as it is - it just won't take any more cuts!  I fully expect to be disqualified on a technicality and end up exiled in a holiday villa with Yannis Varoufakis.

I've actually started under the working title Blues for Greece .... I have an intro with some wailing women .. oh yes. I feel a Greek (music) tragedy coming on.

I'm really struggling with this, every idea I've had so far has been terribly clichéd.

It's all Greek to me. I won one a couple of challenges back with quite a clichéd sound so you should not discount your ideas

Plus, anything would sound good with a mangled bouzouki sample in the back ground so maybe that might help

Over thinking it, maybe? One man's clichéd is another's iconic. I mean, the whole of the Blues idiom might be considered clichéd. It's what you do with it that counts.

I was thinking of doing something mythology based, but came up with a random riff this week and have gone in a very different direction. Doesn't 'sound greek' as such though
