A genius, covering the Foos' finest song and in my view doing it better.

I thought his set at Glastonbury was superb. Great band! He's very talented but I never quite totally buy him as an artist. He seems like a lovely guy and I should really love his music - it ticks many of my boxes - but much as I enjoy it, there's just something missing. Can't quite put my finger on it. But still... very good.

    I think you'll find that's Everlong... :p

Good cover though. I really need to see him live. His recent album is fantastic and he seems in the right mood for it at the moment

His gig at the Astoria on the "Gold" tour is still one of the very best gigs I've been to. Lucky enough to have a really good quality bootleg of it too :D

Ive seen ryan live at least 10 times, and even went on the piss with him once. He is a genius, if a little troubled (he was chaos in person but a bit herion and coke problem at the time) but he seems to have chilled out a lot in past few years.

Yep - when we saw him at the Astoria, he came on stage with a broken hand. Apparently punched the door the night before in a coke-fuelled rage!

Still played for over two and a half hours though and did an acoustic set on his own followed by his full band. So much win!

I always gush when I go on about him but he's brilliant. Some incredible songs he's written - does a great cover too. Can tell a great yarn between songs as well.

@lustycourtier On the lash with Ryan... We're not worthy!

I've seen him do some great gigs, and a couple of ones that were going great till something upset him and he stormed off or had a rant at a sound guy/band member/innocent bystander. He'd also cancelled on me twice (once was after the stage fall incident, I can't remember the reason for the second gig I had tickets for that was pulled).

When he's on form he's amazing, I really wish I'd seen him this year :(

I was at the gig in Liverpool when he fell off stage broke arm and finished the song. He was wasted that night too. Was on the 'rock n roll' tour, an album i love.

Very impressive, although I think Brad Mehldau does Wonderwall better than anyone.

Very good, I didn't think I would have enjoyed that.

I hadn't actually seen that before, but it is stunning. Thanks for sharing
That line up he had with The Cardinals and Neal Casal was really something special.
