Does anyone make flatpack cabinets?

Google doesn't suggest so.

My 19" rack is a £7 IKEA bedside cabinet. Maybe one of their pieces is an ideal size for a cab?

  • There used to be a guy in Wimbledon who distributed cab kits on behalf of a German maker. He was trying to make it as a business and initially it got a lot of interest. The problem is when you consider the cost of birch ply and the work involved, he was having to sell them for £99 for a 1x12" with probably made for a crappy profit in itself. If you then consider £30 for tolex, £10-£20 for glue, another £15-£20 for grill cloth plus any cab corners, feet and handles then you're very quickly not too shy of £200, plus all the work just for a 1x12 - albeit it a very good one. When you look around at either cheap cabs you can buy for less or custom made ones for slightly more It's not hard to see why interest faded and it became a hard sell.

Sad that Tim Henman should be reduced to selling flat pack cabs.
