PSA - Copper tape at Aldi

Aldi are selling off a job lot of sticky backed copper tape. It's packaged as slug deterrent, but presumably useful for cavity shielding, and a lot cheaper than I've bought copper in the past.

I looked at it when it came in a few weeks ago. I thought it was maybe a bit narrow? Ie a lot of fiddling about to do a whole cavity.

I could be wrong.

It has a serrated edge too.

Remember it has to have a conductive glue backing or you'll have to solder earth onto it.

Or just fold it over where it touches the next piece so there's metal on metal contact that way.

It works, some either the glue is conductive, or too thin to matter

You can buy 12" x 12" adhesive backed copper sheet which I've used a number of times. Think you can get it on ebay.

I take a rubbing of the cavity and lay one piece in the bottom then cut strips that lap over onto the bottom piece, then solder along the joins.

I like rubbing cavities then laying a piece in the bottom.
