Humbucker Pole Thread?

On a humbucker with adjustable pole pieces where is the thread which the pole pieces screw into? The bobbin, the metal baseplate? 

Or is there no permanent thread rather the thread is made from the wax potting?

Would wrapping a pole piece screw thread in several turns of PTFE tape be a good way to stiffen up an adjustable pole piece which has become sloppy or is there another way to do it?

Yes re the ptfe tape, you won't need many wraps either.
