With stopbar tailpiece and toggle switch, carved top etc. Looks like a nice mid price Semi alternative and hot off the back of the Zach Myers model which has proven a big hit......

I was just reading about the semi hollow and getting really excited until I realised they only come in grey black and orange :-S

I like the Orange...Looks better off the FB page announcement (at work so cant post the pic) though I suspect they hand picked that particular top......

Yes  - sorry missed that off my original post as was more excited about the Semi CU22 prospect...

  • Yeah both look nice. I wish they'd gone for adjustable bridges on the CU22 though.

yes would have made sense given the ZM model has one. Though I guess goes against the PRS Blueprint? Perhaps the ZM was a personal preference on his part?

They always start off with limited colours, if it sells well, you will see more colours in 6 months.

The adjustable bridge was a ZM request/spec, same as the satin neck on that.

I think in a way I preferred the previous version with a scratchplate and cats-eye f-hole.  The carved top's an improvement though.

Yeah I liked the cat eye f hole too. One of these in the natural flametop with the f hole would look the nuts

I'd have the orange one. They've got the wide/fat neck which I like a lot.

i know what you mean when comparing to the Core line and beyond, if only they didnt have such a thick poly finish!

Same, the problem is that i have the itch to upgrade the tuners to locking tuners, some PAF pickups and new nut at minimum.

After all that, I am looking another £400 with labour/setup, i might as well get a S2 out of the box.

Based on buying new your right, but there are bargains to be had secondhand. Ive seen a recent flood of S2's for the £550-£600 mark, plus as more of the new SE's reach the secondhand market these will become a snip.

  • The nuts usually just need cut properly. I did the one on our singer's SE and it is fine now. In fact I really like the guitar and sometimes use it at writing sessions round his rather than bringing my own US CU22.
