The FretBoard Album Club

I don't know how we'd go about setting this up, but, maybe we could take a bunch of releases each week or each month or something, and vote on them. Then everyone has to listen to that album (can buy it, download it, stream it - whatever you do) and post their thoughts on it. So basically, like a book club, but for music albums instead, on a forum.

Anybody be keen for that? 

Open up to all genres - maybe it will open everyone's minds to something new?

Just an idea! Would like to hear from anyone who'd be keen

Sounds good to me, it can be hard to find good new music.

How about a Spotify playlist with only the album of the month in - then it would be easy to find, and I think that if you subscribe to a playlist you even get an email to say that the tracks had been updated/changed/added.

Hmmmm I never considered EPs. What about one week an album, the next week an EP? Then we get 2 albums & 2 EPs per month?

And I'm not sure about the spotify playlist - only because I'm thinking about international members such as myself, not all content is available on Spotify everywhere in the world (but I do understand why that's put forward). Unfortunately same goes for YouTube hence why I said it "doesn't matter" how you obtain the album to listen to.

Do people know how to create a poll on the forum (if it's possible?) 

Also does anyone have any suggestions for the first one? Let's say that we'll start the first week of September with something that gets released in the first week of September...?

I guess I shall just have to find a free polling site and post links then in the meantime :P 

D'oh. 

Any ideas on when the next update will be? Not that I'm terribly cut up about it but y'know, we'll work around these things.

This idea sounds alright too but most of you have terrible taste in music

We could have an album of Fretboard bands? Haha. I thought there used to be a forum compilation or showcase or something or maybe I'm thinking of another forum!

Spotify is able to have a list where other members are allowed to edit it. 

My band does it for songs we want to practice. Basic idea is we all put a song each week on the playlist th we want to play and as long as we all want to play it, the song stays on it, if someone does not want the song, they can remove it.

We could do a list like that, anyone wants a song removed we have to have a valid reason why. Or even better still, we have different genre lists that we can add to, so we hear about new stuff and discuss stuff we already know?
