    Great band, songs and players.

You'd think a certain Mr R Plant knows his guitar players right....?

    Cheers
    Hugh

I can't say I was ever a big Cast fan, but I never heard anything resembling impressive guitar playing in their music. I like the stuff Mr Tyson plays with Mr Plant though, and it didn't appear from nowhere...

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

He played to the songs he had, mark of a good player in my opinion at least.

All Change must have been one of the few Britpop albums to feature tapping......got to give him 10 out of 10 for that :)

    Cheers

Lovely axe. I'm falling asleep just thinking about Cast though.

    Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.

Walkaway is hardly 1st lesson stuff. Id call that an technically impressive song, including the solo. Same goes for History.

I liked Cast - very much of their time I guess but they wrote decent tunes.

  • I saw Cast support the Lightning Seeds at the Venue, Edinburgh in the mid 90s. Unknowns at the time, I could tell they were class and the singer looked familiar...

I'm sure he had an SG at the time though.

I remember them being proper vintage gear hounds too - when it wasn't that big a deal (Noel G playing a 'burst for many of Oasis' 90's gigs) - and John Power was a fan of single pickup guitars. I remember him playing an SG Junior and a vintage Single Cut Junior too, usually through Vox or HiWatt.

John Power is an artist both solo and with Cast and an amazing live musician who I have met in person 3 times. A real gent. Show him a little respect.

No one has to show him respect on your say so.

There's plenty of artists that come in for stick on this forum that have achieved more than JP. That's how things go I'm afraid.

I know what you were getting at - was just picking up on the way it was presented.
