    Need a bit more info mate. Does it have 57/08 pickups (or 59/09s etc), whats the condition, age and rest of the spec?
    Can you share a picture?

    Otherwise it's anywhere from 999 -> 1500.

    10-tops are about a £400 upcharge at retail but when it comes to second hand it seems it's only as much value added as the potential buyer thinks the top is nice.

    I agree with this - I found the same when I was hunting for my CU24. Very little (if any) difference in price, but I waited and found a 10 top for what I wanted to pay.

    I think 10 tops are more appealing and sellable 2nd hand, but cash value doesn't seem to translate.

    What are you potentially trading for it?

    That's a 1 piece top, potentially more desirable.  Moons not as much as birds.

    Nice guitar though.

  • Yeah didn't really think about the birds. It's for the sg

    Some people prefer moons, horses for courses.

    1 piece tops are certainly more rare but not sure that much more desirable... a lot of people prefer bookmatched maple...

    How can you tell it's a one-piece top?
    I wouldn't pay extra for 10-top though my two are. See here:

  • Ah, thanks!
    Always amazed how much you guys know about the hardware!

  • Pretty sure it's a two-piece bookmatch, it's very well done but you can see the symmetry from the centerline out.

    £1-1.1k tops - a McCarty in amber, with no birds is not difficult to find*.

    *doesn't mean it's not worth the money though.
