Show us your gig posters

As discussed in another thread it'll be interesting to see what sort of posters the pub band players on here put together to advertise their gigs...you know, so we can steal ideas admire each others work.

Here's a couple of mine, we've never done any sort of photo-shoot for either band, so I just use any half decent photos that have been taken at gigs. I then just use MS Word to put them togther:

I like @EricTheWeary's and @not_the_dj's posters. Especially Eric's - tells you exactly what to expect.

@Dopesick's posters fall into the TLDR category - way too much fiddly crap, can't see at a glance what's on - although if you look for long enough all the relevant data is on there, the immediate impression is way too much fiddly crap

The intention was to instantly catch the eye when perusing a sea of flyers/posters/listings on a crowded venue wall. I like to incorporate a solid graphical art element while also advertising the bands who are performing. Not just a MS Word poster with the bands listed in 24pt Arial Black.

You'd absolutely despise most of the work in the Gig Posters books then.

In a sea of flyers/posters/listings on a crowded venue wall, a MS Word poster with the bands listed in 24pt Arial Black might have caught my attention and communicated the relevant info more rapidly. But hey, I'm probably not the target audience
