I went to see him last year. I know some of his YouTube vid's are a bit weird, but live he is really interesting. Whilst he does some things with his guitar that one would not normally consider doing, he does play very rhythmically and holds your interest.

I actually know him from way back, and went to the very first Henry Cow gig (1967 or 1968). He and I were contemporaries in the same College at Cambridge, and, in the first year, he was next door but one to me in hall in College.

It's his real name. He's been a Professor at a Music College in the States for years. He incidentally played guitar in the live performances of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

Yeah, Fred Frith has always been an interesting, uncompromising player. I remember watching him on TV in the 1980's.
