Wood dye/ stain

Does anyone know where i would be able to obtain magenta (or nearest shade to) wood dye/ stain.  Preferably spirit based as i understand this gives a more vivid finish.  I do not need a large quantity of it though as this is for staining the interior of a 35x25x20cm box.

Have a look on here I used fountain pen ink to stain this and Andyjr1515 has used fountain pen ink for a load of builds.

Axminster and others sell Chestnut spirit based stains. Available in primary and wood colours. Can be used as additive to nitro to tint a lacquer.

I've been using Keda powered dyes from the States, you can mix as much as you need, either with water, alcohol or both, pretty vivid colours too and I bought them on the strength of the magenta guitar on their site, though I've not used that colour as yet.

You can also use leather dyes on wood. 

I had a white guitar with a very light brown rosewood fretboard. I used black leather dye to fake a ebony look.  Worked a treat, and looks a million times better.

Worth remembering that the base colour of the wood will affect and stains or dyes more than they would paint.

Loads of fun when you get blue stain for a blue guitar and the yellowness of the wood makes it green. Its one of the reasons very pale figured maple is worth a lot more.

Anyway, if you want close to magenta you may need to start a few shades away. As always, test on scrap, especially if after a specific colour
