Split Hot rail working but no tone control

I followed this diagram for my tele with single coil neck and hot rail bridge

But whilst the split works fine I have lost tone control. 3 way and volume are working fine. Does anyone have a hint at what to look at? I have used a 500k PP tone pot but thought that would be ok?

The 500k shouldn't make much difference.  I'm assuming you have swopped the neck and bridge from the above diagram if it's the bridge you are splitting?

Either way, the tone should still work.  Check and double check that you have a connection between lug 1 of the volume and lug 3 of the tone, that the capacitor is earthed properly and not shorting anywhere else and that the tone pot itself is earthed.

From personal experience, these things are usually a short, or an earth missing somewhere...

Yess done it Thanks @Andyjr1515 I think a blob of solder had earthed the lug one of the volume. Also my 3 way switch was inline and i may have had that wrong.
