Broken Marshall JCm2000 DSL100 Roar then nothing

D28boyD28boy Frets: 6

At rehearsal yesterday my amp suddenly went super loud and then totally silent...No smoke or fire...Still all the lights are on..all the tubes are lit and you can hear the Transformer (?) humming a little as usual. Tested the cab and it's fine ...So any suggestions as to what the problem maybe?

Fyi I was running it on the 16 ohm output into a 1960A cab ...16 ohm input ...as usual.

Difficult to say because there are many problems with these amps, but for super loud followed by silence, my first guess would be a bias failure caused by the jumper connector to the bias adjustment board, valves run way too hot, then blow the HT fuse. If you're lucky, before the valves do this…

They came out of one which did exactly that. Luckily, no other damage once the bias circuit was fixed.
