Old videos

Just been talking to an old mate of mine, who says he has found the master tapes to a concert we did for charity back in 86. Quite intrigued to see it, as I was only 24 at the time and it was the first gig the band did. Not sure what gear I was using then, my old tele and a 30' curly lead springs to mind!

Probably sounds awful, but I think the rig was borrowed from Marrilion at the time, and a load of local bands played, some of whom have long split, some dead and some like me still going. Will try and post them if they are not too bad. 

Any of you have really old footage of you playing when you were young?

I'm using a reverse headstock Ibanez which was brought cheap because it was damaged in a smash and grab raid. The amp is a Marshall Jubilee 50 \ 100 watt . The talent is non existent

Found a DVD the other day from my touring days. I was very young, a few stone lighter and realised that my old Boss ME-10 didn't sound as good as I remembered it did. :-/

I have a couple of videos from way back. The oldest will be about 1981 but I've not digitised it yet. This is a small section of around 1990 era in an old pub with very low ceilings and obviously no space. Rough as all hell, but it was very local to me and I was leaving my gear there that night so I was unusually drunk. Theres some banter and stuff to wade through at the beginning or just fast forward to the 'music'.

If you look carefully you can see his Aria bass has been resprayed to match those trousers

Back then I was nicknamed "the corspe" ... cos I used to just stand there motionless and play guitar

Me 9 years ago playing some Yngwie guff not very well (why are all my old videos so dark!?).

Actually I remember this clearly. It was just before an audition for a G N R type band (well, I was auditioning a bassist) - nothing came of it. THat was my Ibanez phase.

Near Southampton now, so pretty much as far away as Edinburgh as possible

It's not bad here don't get me wrong but if the work situation was better there is no way I'd have left Edinburgh., absolutely love that city.

Yeah, I've been here forever and it's good. 

I'd only move to go to a place like Munich (which is like Edinburgh IMO but even better!)
