I just found this because we bought one of those Now TV boxes and this is one of the apps on it. As the Now Tv box is purely dependent on the broadband there is no signal issues and we get 150mbps, soon to go up to 200, so we don't struggle for broadband.
You create an account online and then link it to your TV device using a code, very similar to watching You Tube on the TV and then on the laptop, go and search for stations to save in presets. Next time the TV is on, it's updated and there's a ton of amazing radio from around the world.
I am listening on the laptop right now to a Los Angeles Classic Rock station called KLOS and it's bloody brilliant.
It's totally free and you don't have to use the Now TV box at all, that's just how i discovered it. Just create an account online, choose your station, plug into some loud speakers and let rip, or use headphones and chill. Works on Android smart phones and tablets so you can search and set presets on the computer and navigate really easily through 'My Library' on your phone to listen. I have no idea about IOS but it's not difficult to search for if you have an Apple device or a Mac.
It's dead easy to use and it seems like a no brainer. There is an unbelievable amount of specialist channels for every genre and searching by location globally is REALLY interesting.
Enjoy Free Radio that's worth listening to,............FINALLY !
