Best guitar software for novice

Hi Folks

Hope u all are well.

I'm a total beginner at playing guitar into a laptop but fancy taking the plunge so need some advice please.

I'm no expert player so just looking for something to mess about on where I can record some rhythm and add lead etc. Amp models and all that good stuff would be cool too.

Any recommendations , keep in mind simplicity please

Garageband for Mac.

I use logic pro but GarageBand is the same thing essentially. I Import backing tracks and play over. Lots of amp models and fx and if I can do it anyone can.

You need a mac for garage band and some kind of interface to connect the guitar. Have a look at iRig.
