What's yours or was yours?

While you are/were Sound Checking/Dicking around before the real gig etc.

This is probably more common in Guitarists, but Bassist most likely do it too.

Especially if it's a band of young guys who have spotted the "Eye Candy"

I was never that good a player way back then.

I think mine was "Smoke on the Water"  :-D

When I'm soundchecking bass, it tends to be either Ghostbusters, Rapper's Delight or Billie Jean...

I'm only playing the bass, I may as well amuse myself in soundcheck!!

Nice one, Zappa is totally under-rated as a guitarist and he had a great understanding of the world around him.

I wonder what he would make of the world today?

Honestly I don't think I actually know any show off riffs. 

Not sure what that says about me. Keep thinking about taking the time to learn how to play some of the less insane bits of Wonderful Slippery Thing.

I've just bought the Jess Lewis transcription from Jam Track central so I'll see how I do.

Nowadays all my own stuff of which nothing could be classed as showing off.

Back in the day it was always riffs from my mates' bands, of which only a handful of people ever heard I guess.

Not sure how many in the audience would know it but I always play bits of Lenny by SRV.

Not good enough to show off, we tend to plug in and play a boogie as I do a sound check mix, then I plug in to make sure I am loud enough and that's it !
