Someone talk me through a MJT (or the like) build

I have literally no idea how to go about this but I think I know what I think I want... Aged body and fittings, humbucker in the neck position  and an aged rosewood neck (maybe Fender badged, maybe not…)

There must be loads on here who've done it? What's the ballpark when you factor everything in?

Any advice would be much appreciated/

I don't 'do' a budget now. Just buy as and when the money is fluttering about, or I see a 'bit' going for a song, or I really want that particular 'bit'.

£500+ is near enough if you're frugal. You'll spend a shit tonne on aerosol nitro if that's your route.

I am not frugal...

Check out Rosser Guitars on facebook/instagram/ebay - I received a body off of him last week that is amazing, and the price was superb too. The spec was pretty custom (hollowbody T, contours, differing edge radii etc) and it was still cheaper than the MJT off-the-shelf options. All I need now is pickups!

I have a Kinman AVN-48b for sale, if that's any use? It came with a 60s set I bought off ebay (AVn-60b and AVn-60n) and I'm using those in my Tele.

There were, always add 25% to the product (incl. shipping) and that should be a fairly accurate total. Completely worth it though, I literally couldn't have got this spec (at this quality) for less anywhere else!

@robinbowes - thanks but no thanks, I'll be routing it out for a pair of super'trons. The original plan was to stick to tele pickups, GAS is a fickle mistress.

Cheers chaps, lovely looking guitars. It's underway, but I'm cheating a bit. I've bought a MJT body (with hardware) from @spenietele. I've got a bid on a nice looking rosewood neck on eBay and am looking at pickups right now. I'm in no rush to finish it though, I want it to be a good 'un.

Well, I've a lovely MJT light relic body sat here form @spenietele, a neck on it's way to @lamf68 for him to sprinkle his magic on, a set of pickups from @theguitarweasel on order then it's off to the genius that is The dobcoss guitar doctor to be put together. Can't wait...
