She bites, shits and pisses everywhere but we forgive her.

Hugo our older dog is not impressed.

We've had a beagle before so we know what we are in for.
She settled in right away. No cowering or being scared.
I slept on the sofa for the first three nights after that she slept all through the night by herself (two weeks now).
She is as mad as a hatter but won't leave Hugo alone so she's received a nip or two.
Totally fearless and loves everybody.

Beagle? Does that mean she's not a "dog" but a "hound"? iirc the red jacket & jodhpurs brigade seem to insist on calling them "hounds" ...

Sweet!!!

Our (9 month old) cream carpets are going to take a hammering in January. 

I'm sure we'll eventually cave and replace with wood/laminate downstairs!

There are people around here you could sub-contract that to, but you may not get it done within the lifetime of the dog ...
