Know your limits: A lesson in stupidity

What's Hot
Oh dear I am a moron.

Went to play my Jazzmaster through my little Blackstar amp today to note an idea down on my iPad, and the lead circuit was inaudible. It transpires that I have managed to break some solder joint in fitting my new Spitfire guard yesterday. I decide to remove the guard to survey the damage. Sure as dammit, there are not one but two broken solder joints. Annoying, but just about understandable; they're fragile little beasts. I don't own a soldering iron, so I figure I admit defeat, reassemble, and take it to my trusted tech genius as soon as he's free. In doing so, I somehow manage to snap a corner of the volume pot. FFS. Allparts order for replacement processed seconds later.

The lesson here is simple; If you are a mong, (however impatient you may be) it is best to let a non-mong handle modifications to your rather lovely new guitar, so's not to render it inoperable.

  • Or it could just be that the guitar is cursed.  Watch out for falling pianos on the way back from the tech.
