Makes me realise how little I know about lions.  Like as an example after one attacked me and then backed off I'd probably be thinking "Let's get the hell out of here!".  Never would I think that getting a stick and continuing to prod him would be a good idea.

Can't say I blame the cats though. If I was  a wild animal kept in captivity and forced to do silly tricks to amuse humans, I'd be pissed off about it too.

I know, this lion is really pissed off about something. Lets make it less pissed off by poking it with big sticks and spraying it with water. That'll sort him right out. Cats love water after all. Bell ends.

They need to reassert as alpha males of the pack or the act is dead in the water and they are left with a bunch of very expensive to maintain pets.

I really don't like this sort of act. I don't think it's entertaining to do this stuff with dangerous animals. I don't like any circus acts with animals to be honest.

Seems to me like at least one of them got the idea about strength in numbers - he was joining in.

It strikes me that the handlers had absolutely no idea about an effective backup plan. Let's face it, the next 5 minutes would've most likely involved the other lions getting involved, and the "spray water, poke them with long sticks and walk around the cage" thing was blatantly not working (not to mention that it obviously was never going to work with that many lions in the cage).

Mind you, if it discourages other people from doing it, then so much the better.

Those lions have most likely had teeth and claws removed. If they were armed so to speak the trainers would have been in much bigger trouble
