Mac OS Amp Plugins

Hi all,

I'm new to mac but got myself setup with a mac book pro and a copy of logic pro x.

Just wondering what my options are for guitar plugins.  

I'm familiar with the usual suspects from my Windows days including amplitube, guitar rig, bias etc.  But are there other options on Mac?

ps - I'm needing low gain tones...

I've not found anything good enough to use on final recordings, especially for low gain stuff.

Amplitude is ok- I frequently track with it and reamp through the Axe FX 2.

I recently got rid of my axefx, doh.  Went back down the amp route as playing in a band again.  The axefx was great for recording.

Have you tried amplitube 4?  Supposed to be vastly improved.

The logic pro amp sims are decent. 

Since you have an amp maybe it's worth looking for a load box and IRs.

Will defo look at the amp sims in Logic. Cheers for the reminder guys.

Also gonna try micing up.  Now have a room where I can turn it up a bit more.  Probably best to see how I get on with the mic I guess?
