Other than Gilmour without doubt the biggest influence on my musical life.

He launched so many guitarists careers- from Ronson to Belew to Alomar to Slick to Gabrels and even SRV.

Two amazing talents, breathtaking performance by both in this vocal isolated track mix. Cannot believe that they are both now gone.

It's No Game (Part 1). Bowie with lots of fantastic Fripp.

I know I've said this before, but this is the first pop record I ever liked as a small child. It was because it was about space, really - which I was obsessed with, I can't claim to have had unusually advanced music taste at five or six - but I loved the song too, and even at that age I found it slightly disturbing that Major Tom probably dies at the end… although that's left to your imagination, I thought so. My mother thought I was odd.

The first of his albums I bought was Let's Dance - my younger sister quite surprisingly bought Ziggy Stardust The Motion Picture at the same time - you might have expected it would be the other way round since I was 15 and she 13 at the time. I think I was more concerned with being trendy.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

So many to choose from. This may be the greatest Bowie song you've never heard.

Wish I could achieve just 1% of his effortless cool. We have been truly blessed to have him.

Ok so it's an obvious song, but have you ever seen anything more compelling?

Was told about it by a mate about 5 years ago, it appeared on the Underworld soundtrack reworked by NIN's Danny Lohner and has Maynard James Keenan and John Frusciante on it too.

It's right  up there for me.
