  • hot rod deluxe?

    (I am guessing)
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I moved from a Supersonic 22 to the Carr Rambler... Bingo

Loadsa choices though... Deluxe Reverb is the natural one

The HRD is a very different beast from what I remember and the Deluxe Reverb doesn't really have the flexibility.  Have you thought of asking someone like @ICBM if your SS22 could be upgraded?  There are normally a few trade secrets to getting these things reliable.

I'd be interested in the answer too!

I swapped the one I had for an H&K Puretone.

Nicer cleans and you can easily stick a decent pedal in the front for the drive sounds.

    any particular one?

Ideally looking for an easy to find production model rather than something boutique, simply due to cost.

    Fandango..

I've got one for sale, but not looking to ship unfortunately.

They are massively under-rated over here - built like tanks (oversized transformers, military spec components), built and designed by Paul Rivera.

Look for good cleans and get the dirt from pedals.

I think the distortion from the S22 is glorious, I'm just yet to play a dirt pedal that I like which makes me afraid of that route.

There are thousands to choose from.  There there are one or two on this forum who have probably had most of them as well.

Fender Prosonic. Better designed/built and what the Supersonic drive channel was based on.

That's a new one to me. Will check it out.

  • If you can find the '94 "Evil" Twin amp that I have, I'd strongly suggest that. Drive channel is uncharacteristicly monstrous for a Fender.

  • Yeah, it is pretty heavy. Does have wheels though.

  • I should have kept those wheels

I think the Rivera is a good shout, there are some really nice demos of the amp Welshboyo is selling....

I've owned two supersonics, the first one I returned as it was noisy. After looking round, I decided I could live with the noise as there was not a lot out there for that price, which isn't really heavy, has a decent size cabinet, has two channels and an effects loop.
