That is a LOT of power, actually Gigrig Generator amount.  I wonder how much it is, if it's less than £200 it would make the Gigrig I would get this since all the ports are isolated already, no need for isolator, no need for voltage doubler.

I had to re-read the article after seeing 500mA... that's not much. Then it dawned on me. Quite juicy after all. You could have a few daisy chains and have your higher voltage sources too.

    Price?

I like the expandabilty of it. I doubt they'll be brackets for Pedaltrains just yet thought but in time I'm sure :) How much though? I bet it won't be cheap

I believe it's $250 for the Zuma so that's quite reasonable.

    That's very good.

  • Hmmm...looks decent enough, but I really don't like the idea of the external power supply.

That is one downside but I guess if it goes under the board, you won't see it anyway and in theory....if you have that off the board, it would mean less electrical interference.

Which brings me to a question....is that mean this PSU isn't shielded?!

  • I got the impression the external supply is only required for the smaller psu - as it needs to be fed with 24 volts

Yep, that's true (the larger one has an IEC mains socket on the back). I wouldn't be interested in that one, though, so it's self-interest all the way here :D

I am presuming you can connect these to each other to expand more ports etc?

Its cool that the big one can power the little one...

For the price difference and neatness I prefer the bigger one anyway. I can see them selling lots of these, unless you need AC or 24v then it's little reasons to get the Mondo or Ciokolate.

I'm not sure they are bringing anything new to the market here

It will sell because it is Strymon most likely

Agree. I think they would have done better to bring out a switching / looping system for all their pedals etc

There is nothing out there with this much power/mA, per port, for £200.

T-rex ruel tank goliath is close.. 450ma from output 1-5 per and 187 from Thomann, but this is bigger and extendable. The goliath is quite old now and hums quite a bit.

I am very tempted by this, ditching my 2 fuel tanks it would replace.
