Rift Amps - Brownie 5 (Brownface Champ)

What's Hot
RiftAmpsRiftAmps Frets: 3171
Decided to do something a little different with my latest model...always bugged me that Fender didn't do a Brownface Champ so decided to have a go. Of course there's no tonal reference so it's entirely my own interpretation. It took around 6 months on and off to get it sounding bang on between Tweed and Blackface, I spent too long messing around with the tonestack in hindsight...

Anyway, it's all done and here, ready for market. Just waiting to get a demo video done.

I'm offering it in three versions:

1) Vol, Treble, Bass - £799
2) VTB with Tremolo - £849
3) VTB with Reverb - £899

  • Preamp Valve: 1 x ECC83
  • Power amp Valve: 1 x 6V6
  • Rectifier Valve: 1 x 5Y3
  • OPTIONAL: Reverb or Tremolo
  • Finger Jointed Pine Cabinet w/Brown Tolex + Wheat grille
  • Heyboer Transformers
  • 'Orange Drop' Tone Capacitors
  • Handwired circuitry
  • Jensen C8R Ceramic 4ohm speaker (upgrades available)
  • 14½" x 17 x 7¼"

Sorry, should have mentioned that it's a 5w amp.

Is the reverb option a proper spring job?

Of course, classic 60s Fender reverb. Only difference is I'm using a 3-spring short tank to fit the smaller cabinet.

    Great concept!!
Are there any demos of this as yet?

There's no official demo just as yet, Aynsley is recording his next album so he's not available for a while yet....I've got a queue of amps waiting for him.

It takes pedals just as well as any Champ does, that short clip was with a delay pedal. I've been using it at home for practice and it sounds killer with an OD pedal at low volume.

This sounds like just what I'm looking for, just as a head instead of a combo.

@DanR This can be done, no problem.

Unsurprisingly, the Reverb model is proving to be the most popular out of the three.

@RiftAmps Could you pm me a price for a head please, ideally with reverb.

It will be paired with a Zilla Fatbaby with a Creamback in if you have any thoughts on your amp with that speaker it would be appreciated.
