Theremin could be a lot of fun though...

Double bass if it was enough money. Pretty sure I'd be shit but double bass players are the musicians I admire the most as a species. For less money possibly a plastic trumpet, I could alternate between guitar and some basic trumpet in my current band quite well so it would have an almost instant use.
