Really?  How much of that was the Matrix, as Clarky said he had a lot of interest in his AFX rig, though he wasnt at the Matrix stand I dont think.
there were plenty of folk interested in it.. give quite a few guided tours of the unit..
and talked about live and studio applications etc…
I don't know about what was happening on the Matrix stand.. but I think there was good interest on our stand..

I wasn't interested in any of it. So I didn't go.

There was a reasonable amount of interest in the AxeFX, but not like two years ago when it was like there we had a diamond unicorn on the stand.

I think it's probably because they are more commonplace these days.
I think this was as much to do with the stand's footprint as anything else..
this year we were in a smaller space..
the two previous years we had a little more room which enabled us to set out my rig exactly as it would be on stage and still have enough space for all the Fretboard stuff etc..
all combined it meant that we had a more impressive looking stand.. and the whole overall effect is what drew folks in..

so I'd hazard a guess that it'd catch the eye a little better that way..

  • We were certainly busy at various points during the show but it was "in waves". We honestly have never set out to do the shows as a selling thing anyway. It's been more about "spreading the gospel" and showing that there is other technology out there and a way to utilise it live.

Last year and this we noticed a lot more people pointing at the Kemper than the Axe Fx. You've got to remember that to the majority of guitarists, a lot of this tech is still very new. We still get asked about both though and generally which one is better/easier. Our new full range speakers hot a lot of interest as did the general lightweight guitar ones. All in all a good show and I always enjoy chatting to people and trying to help if I can.

We'll be doing the lightweight NL cabs soon with Neo Celestion Creambacks also!

@lightninboy - well, you've definitely made one sale (the NL212). It's just a question of which one of the people who owe me money pony up first ;)

Just to add also. We've noticed  a lot more people actually own the Axe FX than used to be so maybe that also accounts for it's apparent lack of interest as it's quite well advertised etc these days. I'm just shocked at how much notice my Caparison Applehorn gets whenever we do one!

My rough survey from today showed me 73.4% of the visitors had sleeve tattoos.

And that 83.8% of that 73.4% had fuck all clue what their tatts meant
Tattoos don't have to mean anything!

I felt sorry for the Gretsch rep. Looked very awkward and lonely. I preferred it this year to last, Mr Patrick Eggle was especially lovely to chat to and let me try all his guitars which were jaw dropping.

Yeah I should've gone to be honest. But I didn't plan my time effectively at all. Alnico offered mea lift, but I was just all over the shop. Still am tbh!

I thought the matrix cabs looked amazing, so light and compact too. The smoothound wireless looked so great I bought one.... I'm sure I'll do a thread or give some details once I've seen how far I can go from my amp and keep playing!

Handsome Chris's axed X was incredible, and..... It took the pedals so well, I was really very impressed..... And blimey was it loud.
@ThorpyFX, did you see my trying the Smooth Hound out for range on Friday?  That was a hoot and a holler.

I remember reving up the rig on Sunday PM just after the last 'quiet period' of the show.  It was like everyone was starting to go for it, so I joined in.  I even got Dave Brons with his rather sexy @Jaden Rose on at max volume.
