custom In Ear Monitor question

Looking at getting some especially after the current thread singing their praises.
What i'm interested to know is: Can you use your IEMs as regular earphones for listening to music?
I use SE215 at the moment and they're alright, not great, but I use them onstage for monitoring, and just to listen to music.
would the Read Audio R100 be good for both?
