Suhr riot as boost?

Anybody using the riot infront of a dirty amp for a saturation boost? Seems like it was designed more as a standalone distortion but I'd be keen to know if anyone's used it to tighten up an already driven amp.

Personally I'd think it would have waaaay too much gain for that, but I have heard about people doing it.

You might be better off with the Galactic which has less low end.

I don't have a riot anymore but I don't think it'll be good for this. Too much gain on tap even at the lowest setting. You definitely want the koko boost or the new suhr dual boost.

I'm sure the dual boost sounds good, but the new version of the rc booster is more tempting with its two switches - press and hold can be annoying!

I have one and a few reasonable tube amps. Its not ideal and sounds better into a cleaner amp. Gets too fizzy into an already gain heavy amp.

I've tried it and it was passable if the amp gain is light. The riot worked much better imo into a cleaner amp. The eq on the riot has too much high and low so it can turn mushy if the amp is distorting. That could be a good thing of course.
