People that wear hats indoors

What's Hot

Friday is dress down day in my office, there's a lad who wears a baseball cap every Friday. I am against the wearing of hats indoors, also the wearing of wooly hats/scarves in summer with a t-shirt.

Surely at 34 I shouldn't be this grumpy about the fashion of the youth, but I am.

It's perched on the top of his head and to a slight angle. He's about my age, perhaps a bit younger but definitely the wrong side of 30, which makes it worse.

Wrong in every way. Hats are outside wear, unless for professional reasons, police, fire brigade, construction. You get the gist.

In the same way that sunglasses should only be worn outside on sunny days and at no other time or place.

Why do some people have the need to be constantly carrying their overly large mobile 'phones around in their hands?  Usually on the same arm as their stupidly large hand bags (but not actually pointing to any gender as that might seem sexist).

YOU ALL LOOK STUPID, NOT IN ANY WAY COOL ETC!

My old ranty bit for today.

    Is he balding?

A friend of friend wears a beanie all times even at the peak of summer in doors.

I disagree with "dress down day", because of the implicit assumption that I'm going to "dress up" for the rest of the week.

We are rebelling and trying to introduce dress down day in the office.

Today I'm wearing jeans and a normal suit style shirt.
We've got a long way to go before it's shorts and flip flops in the office

I find it weird that in a non-client facing/meeting office in 2016 you're expected to dress in a certain way. To be fair it's pretty relaxed here but you have to wear a shirt and no jeans.

    ^ Ahhh business casual?

To be fair 99% of the time I'm in toursers, shirt and always have a suit jacket and a tie with me just in case

  • if theres anything in this... Peter Cook used to wear a hat in bed, but most likely for the piss-take value...

My last job I wore a casual shirt, jeans and a hoodie most days unless I was seeing clients then it'd be trousers and a nicer shirt. Now i'm in a big corporate thing and it's a suit every day but never a tie and usually my jacket is off and shirt sleeves rolled up within 20 minutes of getting in the door if I'm not seeing clients.

Baseball caps indoors are definitely wrong in any situation. Frankly they're just plain wrong generally unless you are either playing or watching sport.

As a perennial wearer of hats, I do usually take mine off indoors. However, in a lot of places there is no longer anywhere to put the bloody thing, so sometimes it gets left on.
I apologise if it has caused you offence in a pub at any point.

dress codes, when you aren't dealing with a client are massively patronising. When I was in an office I would just ignore dress down days, they are pathetic. "ooh, lets give the little people a reward, they can wear JEANS! Hurrah!" Ridiculous.

AS for hats indoors. I concur: cock.

If you don;t have clients in your office, I don't see what it matters. And these days, most clients are casually dressed anyway. For me, its more important to look professional, thats it.

I have a bigger issue with dirty shoes, scruffy dress. My attitude is just look like you are bothered.

What about performance enhancing hats for gigging? Most photos of me on here are inside buildings but I'm wearing a hat as a psychological aid to playing the guitar ( I am known to do this at home sometimes, even have a special Texas blues hat). And also shoes - clearly an outdoor item of wear but still worn around the office.
